Job summary

Seurat Technologies seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to work with engineers, technologists, vendors, and senior management to scope, schedule, and present deliverables. You will operate the LPBF printer, conduct DOEs, and manage print operations and maintenance in a high-precision metal AM environment.

You will collaborate with design engineers to improve printer design, monitor technical deliverables, and oversee system prototype construction, testing, and validation, with relocation to MA

Qualifications

• S. in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in system architecture and engineering.
• Experience in commercial metal AM/manufacturing facilities and LPBF is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate printer to produce parts per manufacturing plan and perform DOEs for process development.
• Respond to printing operation issues and adjust processes to maximize success.
• Conduct basic equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
• Report printing operation issues to management.
• Handle pre- and post-printing procedures and cleaning."
• Manage print supplies and materials required for production.
• Collaborate with design engineers to improve printer design and performance.
• Monitor technical deliverables across product development programs.
• Ensure interface between departments for technical deliverables.
• Analyze engineering proposals and technical data."

Seeking an experienced Systems Engineer. The ideal candidate demonstrates capabilities to work with engineers, technologists, vendors, and senior management to scope, schedule, and present deliverables. Experience with opto-mechanical systems, high power laser systems, and capital equipment design for manufacturing are valued attributes.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate printer to produce parts according to manufacturing plan, conduct design of experiments (DOEs) for process development, and generate job reports
• Respond to printing operation issues and make necessary adjustments to maximize the success of printing
• Conduct basic equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Report printing operation issues
• Conduct pre and post printing operations including unloading and cleaning printing cartridge, cleaning printing chambers, loading powders, loading printing cartridge, and conducting all pre-printing procedures and checkups.
• Manage print supplies (raw materials, consumables, replacement parts, etc.).
• Collaborate with design engineers in technology and product development to improve printer design
• Identifying and monitoring technical deliverables on several key product development programs
• Ensuring successful technical interface between various functional department’s technical deliverables
• Analyzing engineering proposals and technical data
• Work with multidisciplinary engineering team, technologists, and management team to define project or program scope
• Overseeing subsystem and system prototype construction, troubleshooting, verification, and validation testing

Skills/Qualifications:

• Previous success in blue sky thinking and complex problem solving
• Understanding and experience with the Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle
• Experience evaluating and mitigating technical risk
• Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to interact with our valued team members and clients

Education/Experience:

Required:

• S. in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in system architecture and engineering.

Preferred:

• Experience of working in commercial metal AM manufacturing facilities (service bureaus, manufacturing divisions, laboratories, etc.) is strongly preferred
• Experience in operating laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) based metal printing is strongly preferred
• Experience in operating sophisticated industrial equipment
