Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) is hiring a Mid-Level Systems Engineer in the Washington, DC area to support the SLCM-N program. The role focuses on architecture development, requirements management, and SE reviews, with collaboration across government and contractor teams.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years in systems engineering, a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, and experience with Cameo, IBM DOORS, Confluence, and Jira. DoD clearance is required.

  • Proficiency in workflow management tools including Confluence and Jira.

Responsibilities

  • The Systems Engineer will provide technical and programmatic systems engineering support including architecture development, requirements development and maintenance, and support to SE Technical Reviews (SETR).
  • The Systems Engineer will support SPA leadership and the government team by providing technical assistance, preparing artifacts and presentations, and participating in client engagements.
  • They will collaborate with other engineers, program analysts, technical leads, subcontractors, and customers to ensure objectives are met on schedule and within budget.

The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.

SPA's SD’s Regional Strike System Group (RSSG) supports critical U.S. government programs providing Systems Engineering, Systems Safety, Modeling, Master Scheduling, and Financial Analysis support. RSSG is immediately hiring for a Mid-Level Systems Engineer in the Washington, DC area supporting the Nuclear-Armed, Sea-Launched Cruise Missile (SLCM-N) Program, an ACAT-1D program.

Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer will provide technical and programmatic systems engineering support including architecture development, requirements development and maintenance, and support to Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR). The Systems Engineer will provide support to SPA leadership and the government team by providing technical assistance, preparing artifacts and presentations, and participating in client engagements. The Systems Engineer will collaborate with other engineers, program analysts, technical leads, subcontractors, and customers to ensure program objectives are met on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to work up to 5 days per week at SPA's Maritime Plaza office.
  • U.S. citizen with active DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance while employed with SPA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in a systems engineering position.
  • Experience with tools including Cameo, Teamwork Cloud, and IBM DOORS.
  • Proficiency in workflow management tools including Confluence and Jira.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Strategic Systems Programs.
  • Experience working with DoD acquisition programs.
  • Experience presenting to and communicating with senior leadership.

Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Washington, DC, Pay Transparency Salary range: USD $100,000.00/Yr. - USD $130,000.00/Yr.
