Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a field engineer to lead customer presentations, perform system staging, and deliver complete documentation. The role will drive live system upgrades and ensure architectural integrity while traveling to customer sites across the south central US.

50–60% travel is required. Required are a Bachelor's degree in engineering or IT, US citizenship or permanent residency, and the ability to obtain background clearance.

The Motorola Solutions team comprises Sales, Project Management, Systems Engineering and System Technologist personnel working together in a high performance culture, often with demanding cycle times and high customer expectations as we work to deploy mission critical communication systems.

Many of these systems are designed around the APCO Project 25 communications standard, often with interfaces to other critical customers' sub-systems. With the growth of data services some of our customers’ mobile wireless networks are being enhanced with connectivity to an LTE infrastructure, leveraging compelling applications and live mobile video, supplementing our traditional core voice and narrow-band data networks.

Individuals will be responsible for carrying out field engineering duties during a radio system upgrade cycle. He/she will be responsible for upgrading/deploying various devices which include network gear, Windows-based devices, virtual machines and Motorola proprietary devices. Along with above duties, individuals will be a customer facing technical resource through the upgrade effort. He/She will be primarily traveling to customer locations in the south central US to carry out their duties.

50-60% travel is required for upgrade projects.

Target Base Salary Range - $60,000 to $70,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electronic Systems Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, IT or Networking
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident with the ability to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
