Job summary

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer located at MacDill Air Force Base (AFB), FL in support of SOF AT&L PEO-TIS Remote Capabilities. The role emphasizes requirements analysis, risk assessment, and verification of small unmanned systems and sensor technologies.

The candidate will translate operational requirements into technical specs, support OT&E, and assist in developing SOWs/SOO and technical documentation for deployment and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain security clearance TS/SCI.
• Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience with RF theory and sensors for DoD platforms.
• Experience in engineering project management and lifecycle processes.
• Familiarity with SOW/SOO development and OT&E processes.
• Ability to translate military requirements into technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering expertise focusing on requirements analysis, concept/technology development, risk assessments, and verification & validation of small unmanned systems and sensors.
• Develop technical solutions supporting SOF operational requirements with budget and engineering authorities.
• Conduct requirements analysis and decomposition into subsystems and MOPs.
• Support development of technical documents for Fielding & Deployment Release and OT&E.
• Assist in evaluation of engineering change proposals and waivers.
• Provide expert inputs for status briefings to leadership outlining programs and issues.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide systems engineering expertise focusing on requirements analysis, concept/technology development, risk assessments, and verification & validation of small unmanned systems and associated sensor technologies.

• Work with organizational managers, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to develop technical solutions in support of SOF operational requirements.

• Conduct requirements analysis and decomposition; translate military operational requirements into technical specifications with further decomposition into sub-systems, components, and system characteristics along with associated Measures of Performance (MOP).

• Support development and staffing of various technical documents in support of Fielding & Deployment Release (F&DR) and Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E).

• Support government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and agency reporting requirements.

• Conduct research and assessments of emerging Space technologies in support of SOF emerging operational requirements.

• Evaluate and recommend technical solutions to address SOF operational requirements utilizing a professional knowledge of multi-discipline engineering.

• Apply advanced tools to document and analyze the results of critical, complex activities and tasks.

• Assist in the development of Statements of Work/Statements of Objectives (SOW/SOO).

• Conduct advanced engineering tasks such as reviewing engineering change proposals, reviewing requests for waivers and deviations, conducting technical analysis to assess performance, and presenting results and recommendations based on analysis.

• Provide expert technical level inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, projects, problems, and recommended resolution.

• Support requirements management and traceability of requirements throughout the design, Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E), and sustainment phase of a system’s lifecycle.

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen

• Security Clearance Required: TS with SCI Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 10 years of experience in systems engineering

• DAWIA Advanced (formerly Level III) Equivalency in the Engineering & Technical Management field

• 5 years of technical experience exercising RF theory

• 5 years of experience with engineering project management

• Practical understanding of Tagging, Tracking, and Locating (TTL), sensors, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems

• Experience in early concept development, requirements analysis, design, test and evaluation, and risk assessment
