Job summary

OSI Digital is seeking a Systems Engineer to help the Retail group leverage retail devices for Point of Sale, including printers, cash drawers, scanners, and payment terminals on mobile devices, tablets, and desktops.

You will join a team in Raleigh, NC with colleagues in Hyderabad, Ireland, Dallas, and San Diego, contributing to multi-location projects with strong collaboration and reliability objectives.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering with 2–5 years of experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience integrating and supporting retail devices and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrations with POS devices across mobile, tablet and desktop platforms.
• Collaborate with Raleigh office and remote teams for reliable system delivery.

Job Description: We are looking for a candidate to help the OSI Digital Retail group utilize retail devices for Point of Sale (printer, cash drawer, scanner, payment terminals on mobile devices, tablets, desktops). You will work in a team focused environment with team members in the Raleigh North Carolina office and other remote locations in Hyderabad India, Ireland, Dallas, and San Diego.

Expertise and Key Skills:

• Mobile / Browser Applications (Android, IoS, Windows)
• Using RS-232 / Serial / USB Communications to external devices
• Using and developing HTTP/HTTPS/TCP Communications
• Using and developing Web API's
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to communicate thoughts, designs, and ideas clearly and regularly with other team members (both locally and remote)
• BS Electrical Engineering, BS Computer Science, or BS Computer Engineering with 2-5 years of experience

Additional Desired Skills

• Experience with reliability / fault tolerant / failover designs and systems
• Knowledge of multi-threaded asynchronous near real-time programming
• Low Level Systems programming, end to end experience
• Experience with performance measurement and tuning
