Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a Systems Engineering Engineer to support the Sentinel program on the Northrop Grumman team. You will prepare critical SE work products, develop design requirements, and help validate and verify system-level requirements across the project.

The role requires strong organizational and teamwork skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to innovation. Clearances and eligibility are important as the project involves government stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 2–5 years of relevant experience, or 6–9 years of related work.
  • Must have INCOSE ASEP or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Must have right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Experience with DOORS or Innoslate; RAMI/FMECA; regulatory guides.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare systems engineering work products.
  • Develop system and facility design requirement documents.
  • Support system-level requirements validation and verification processes.
  • Perform periodic assessments to trace requirements into design.
  • Prepare impact analysis for proposed requirement changes.

Project Overview:

the company is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner on the Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program, which is modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. the company’s scope of service in Sentinel’s current Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase focuses on the ground infrastructure component of the program.

A major contractor for the United States and allied governments, the company has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile-defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery spanning half a century. Job Summary:

The Systems Engineering Engineer supports the systems engineering activities performed on the project The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. The Systems Engineer prepares and review key systems engineering documents and must have a working knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Prepare systems engineering work products.
  • Develop system and facility design requirement documents.
  • Support the development of system-level requirements validation and verification processes which include test specifications, acceptance criteria, and requirements flow down /traceability.
  • Perform periodic assessments to validate implementation and traceability of requirements into design.
  • Prepare impact analysis for proposed requirement changes.
  • Coordinate and facilitate technical discussions to resolve system design issues.
  • Coordinate directly with client and regulatory representatives.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Basic Qualifications
  • Must have the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Possess understanding of Systems Engineering principles and methods, requirements management principles, and methods.
  • Experience working with systems engineering tools, such as IBM® Rationale DOORS® or Innoslate by Spec Innovations on a project.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, standards and their influence on design.
  • Ability to obtain INCOSE Systems Engineering ASEP certification within 12 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certification
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Be familiar with the design of complex industrial facilities.
  • Experience with RAMI/FMECA analysis.
  • Experience with manufacturing modeling and efficiency analysis.
  • Experience executing systems engineering with IBM® Rationale DOORS®, CAMEO, or other systems engineering or similar software packages.
  • Experience with SE implementation on projects executed for DOD, or other similar government agencies.
