Saia LTL Freight is seeking a Windows Server Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise Windows Server environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.

The role focuses on stability, security, performance, and availability with strong emphasis on Active Directory, virtualization, patch management, and enterprise security practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Windows Server administration in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and certificate services.
• Strong scripting and automation with PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022+).
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Certificate Services.
• Perform provisioning, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning activities.
• Configure VMware/Hyper-V virtual environments and high-availability solutions.
• Automate operational tasks with PowerShell and Ansible where appropriate.
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations.
• Collaborate with network, security, and cloud teams on infrastructure initiatives.

This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, performance, and availability of Windows-based infrastructure across on-premises and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience with Active Directory, virtualization, automation, patch management, and enterprise security practices.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and support Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022, and newer).Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Certificate Services.Perform server provisioning, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning activities.Deploy and maintain VMware and/or Hyper-V virtual environments.Configure and manage Windows Failover Clustering and high-availability solutions.Implement and maintain security controls, hardening standards, and compliance requirements.Manage patching and vulnerability remediation across server infrastructure.Monitor server performance, capacity, availability, and trends using enterprise monitoring tools.Automate operational tasks using PowerShell and infrastructure automation platforms.Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations.Troubleshoot complex server, operating system, and infrastructure issues.Collaborate with network, cloud, security, and application teams on infrastructure initiatives.Participate in on-call support and incident response activities.Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.2+ years of Windows Server administration experience in enterprise environments.Experience with:Windows Server 2016/2019/2022Active DirectoryGroup PolicyDNS/DHCPPowerShell scriptingVMware vSphere or Hyper-VWindows Failover ClusteringExperience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions.Knowledge of security frameworks and server hardening best practices.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).Experience with automation tools such as Ansible.Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM/MECM or Intune.Familiarity with storage technologies (SAN, NAS).Knowledge of Kubernetes or OpenShift environments.Microsoft certifications:Azure Administrator AssociateWindows Server Hybrid Administrator AssociateAzure Solutions Architect ExpertTechnical SkillsWindows Server AdministrationActive Directory ServicesPowerShell AutomationVMware vSphereAzure InfrastructureDNS/DHCPMicrosoft Entra IDGroup Policy ManagementServer Security & ComplianceDisaster Recovery & Business ContinuityPerformance Monitoring & Capacity PlanningSuccess MetricsMaintain server uptime and availability targets.Reduce manual operational effort through automation.Timely remediation of vulnerabilities and patch compliance.Successful execution of server lifecycle and migration projects.Adherence to security, audit, and compliance requirements.BenefitsAt Saia, your success is our success!
