Job summary

SAIC seeks a Systems Engineer to lead a team of engineers and professionals delivering weapon system concepts and products for government programs across the full lifecycle.

You will interface with diverse design and logistics teams, perform trade studies, allocate requirements, and prepare interface definitions to meet customer specifications, ensuring on-time, within-budget deliveries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 2+ years of experience, or Master's degree
• Experience with requirement generation, management, allocation, and tracking
• Strong background in managing engineering development project teams and tracking risks, costs, schedule, and team performance
• Experience with MIL-STD-810 testing, documentation, setup, and execution
• Experience with product design review processes and presenting material in a development environment (defense, medical, automotive, etc.)
• Experience writing and interpreting technical reports and interface documents
• Ability to obtain a minimum of a secret security clearance and must be a U.S. citizen
• Desired: Life Cycle Management tools, production transition, QA, procurement, and logistics experience
• Experience with DoD weapons integration, aircraft systems and related test equipment

Description

SAIC is seeking a well-rounded Systems Engineer to lead a team of EEs & MEs, and other project personnel to deliver concepts and products related to weapon systems, aircraft and other military systems. The candidate will directly support Government program(s) as project lead throughout the entire program lifecycle. The candidate will support all aspects of design to include, but not limited to, design, development, documentation, testing and production transition. Candidate will be expected to possess excellent communication skills to interface to multi-disciplinary design team and logistics team. Candidate will also perform detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into engineering specifications. Candidate will author documents to system compliance with customer requirements. As part of daily duties, candidate ensures the effective team implementation of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess the following qualifications:

• Minimum of Bachelors degree in relevant engineering discipline and two (2) years or more experience, or Masters degree
• Experience with requirement generation, management, allocation, and tracking
• Strong background with managing engineering development project teams and familiarity with project tracking to assess risk, costs, schedule, and team performance
• Strong background in developmental and qualification testing, to include test planning, documentation, set up, and execution per MIL-STD-810
• Strong background in product design review processes, to include preparation of review documentation and products, and presentation of material in a structured development environment (i.e. defense, medical, automotive, etc…)
• Experience writing and interpreting technical reports and requirements and interface documents
• Experience preparing presentation material and presenting to peers, project tram members, customers, and managers at all levels
• Must be able to obtain a minimum of a secret security clearance
• Must be U.S. citizen

DESIRED SKILLS: Not required, but ideal candidate would also possess the following skills:

• Product Life Cycle Management tools experience a strong plus
• Background in product development through production transition which includes working alongside QA, procurement, & logistics.
• Experience with military QA and Change Management requirements
• Experience with electronic systems and RF systems a plus
• Experience with DoD weapons integration, aircraft systems and weapons control and delivery systems and associated test equipment
• Already possess military security clearance at the Secret or above level
