Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 4–8 years experience OR Master’s with 2–6 years experience.
• Hands-on background with enterprise hardware architectures, network switches/routers (Cisco), cabling, and network interfaces.
• Proficiency with documentation platforms, network diagramming software, and scheduling tools (Jira, Confluence, Visio).

Responsibilities

• Own planning, execution, scheduling, and maintenance of hardware installation guides, cable matrices, router/switch scripts, and technician-facing work instructions.
• Translate physical rack elevations and network topologies into clear field procedures for technicians.
• Collect and evaluate operational data to identify bottlenecks in hardware staging or network configuration and implement improvements.
• Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and train internal operations teams on network installation workflows.

We are seeking an operational, highly collaborative Systems Engineer with a robust hardware and network integration background to support the United Kingdom National Airspace System Replacement (UK NAS-R) program. In this role, you will be the core technical catalyst responsible for translating complex infrastructure layouts into actionable, step-by-step technical and work instructions for deployment and support technicians.

By combining your hands‑on infrastructure engineering experience with rigorous documentation planning, you will bridge the gap between high‑level physical network architecture and ground‑level field deployment, ensuring our teams have standardized, repeatable, and safety‑compliant procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Instruction Lifecycle: Own the planning, execution, scheduling, and maintenance of all hardware installation guides, cable matrix sheets, router/switch configuration scripts, and technician‑facing work instructions.


• Hardware & Network Translation: Interpret physical rack elevations, network topologies, electrical interfaces, and port maps to author crisp, unambiguous procedures for field technicians.


• Data-Driven Process Optimization: Collect and evaluate operational data to identify bottlenecks in hardware staging or network configuration, implementing measurable improvements to repeatability and deployment efficiency.


• Stakeholder Engagement & Training: Facilitate knowledge‑sharing sessions, train internal operations teams on network installation workflows, and author technical presentation content for cross‑functional engineering updates.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline and 4-8 years of relevant prior experience. OR Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline and 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.

• Hardware & Network Domain: Proven hands‑on technical background working with enterprise hardware architectures, network switches/routers (e.g., Cisco), structured cabling, and network interfaces.


• Engineering Toolsets: Advanced proficiency with modern documentation platforms, network diagramming software, and scheduling tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence or Visio).

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with Air Traffic Management (ATM) environments, civil/military airspace infrastructure, or legacy UK airspace replacement systems.


• Familiarity with safety‑critical software/hardware compliance environments and change management protocols (e.g., ED-109A/DO-278A).

Industry-recognized certifications in networking or project delivery (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, ITIL v4, or PMP).

Pay Range

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
