Job summary

SAIC seeks a Systems Engineer to support the Army's MCIS at Fort Bliss, TX. The role includes training soldiers on MCIS, Enterprise Services, and Tactical Command Systems, plus sustaining the simulated environment and resolving real-world MCIS LAN/WAN issues.

Required are Army Tactical Communication Systems experience, Mission Command Systems expertise, and DoD Secret Clearance. Proficiency with Windows Server, VMware, Cisco UCM, and Linux is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in Army Tactical Communication Systems (WIN-T and TACSAT).
• Experience in Army Mission Command Systems.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• 8570.01 IAT Level II current: Security+ CE.
• Extensive experience in MCIS, CPOF/CPCE Servers and Enterprise Systems Administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to soldiers on MCIS, Enterprise Services and Tactical Command Systems, including capabilities, applications, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and operation in a network topology.
• Offer in-depth knowledge of internetworking theory, subnetting, IP addressing, routers, IPv4/v6 routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, VoIP, SAN/NAS storage, and Enterprise Systems Administration.
• Deliver technical solutions for sustainment of the simulated environment and troubleshoot real-world MCIS communication and LAN/WAN performance.

SAIC is currently seeking a Systems Engineer supporting the Army's Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) located onsite at Fort Bliss, Texas.

Job Description

• Provide training to soldiers to ensure improve working knowledge of key systems such as MCIS, Enterprise Services and Tactical Command Systems to include capabilities, applications, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and operation in a network topology
• Offer in-depth knowledge of internetworking theory, sub netting, IP addressing, routers, IP routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, VoIP communications, SAN / NAS Storage systems and Enterprise Systems Administration
• Deliver technical solutions for sustainment of the simulated environment as well to analyze and troubleshoot real world situations that affect the MCIS system communication and performance across LAN/WAN operations

This position requires up to 25% of travel.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• Experience in Army Tactical Communication Systems (WIN-T and TACSAT)
• Experience in Army Mission Command Systems
• Prior military service (ie..Chief Warrant Officer)
• 8570.01 IAT Level II current: Security+ CE
• Extensive experience in MCIS, CPOF/CPCE Servers and Enterprise Systems Administration
• Knowledge and experience on Microsoft Windows Server (2008 R2, 2012), VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi 5/6), VMware vCenter 5/6, Cisco Unified Call Manager and Linux Command Line
