KBR is seeking a Systems Engineer in El Segundo, CA with active TS/SCI clearance. This role requires a bachelor’s degree and extensive related experience to design, integrate, and analyze system-of-systems to meet complex mission requirements.

Responsibilities include developing acquisition roadmaps, mentoring teams, and solving large-scale technical challenges to deliver cost-efficient, high-performance defense solutions.

• Formulates, recommends, and directs operations and procedures to resolve engineering problems on a project or projects.
• Develops acquisition roadmaps to ensure system development timelines meet operational requirements by need dates.
• Provides technical assistance and instruction relative to design problems and resolution of construction or operating difficulties.

Job Summary:

KBR is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Team in El Segundo, CA. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of engineering work in the development of an operable system of systems capable of meeting requirements within imposed constraints including mass, cost and schedule.
• Designs and/or researches system interfaces to ensure that subsystems are integrated and work together to form a viable complete end-to-end system.
• Performs functional analysis of a kill chain to ensure it meets performance criteria and mission constraints and to feed the analysis results back to the subsystem development teams.
• Formulates, recommends, and directs operations and procedures to resolve engineering and/or technical problems regarding operations, staffing, and equipment utilization on a specific project or projects.
• Develops acquisition roadmaps to ensure system development timelines meet operational requirements within need dates.
• Provides technical assistance and instruction relative to design problems and the resolution of construction or operating difficulties.
• Conducts special studies and investigations related to project activities and recommends changes as appropriate to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet changed or new requirements.
• Analyzes project requirements and provides information and instruction for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, designing, and modifying equipment as appropriate.
• Anticipates internal and external business challenges and/or regulatory/compliance issues.
• Recommends process, product, or service improvements.
• Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact.
• Requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.
• Mentors and advises project teams on projects with notable risk and complexity.

Compensation:

Standard Compensation: For California only, the salary range for this position is approximately $170,000 - $205,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

• Other Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
• Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
