Job summary

SAIC in Chantilly, VA is seeking an experienced System Engineer to provide technical support for systems services, server provisioning, network integration, repository management, NAS and hardware administration, and compliance management. A TS/SCI with Poly is required.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's in engineering or technology with at least five years of relevant experience, plus Linux admin and Juniper/Cisco network device expertise.

Qualifications

Description

SAIC has an immediate opening for an experienced System Engineer to provide technical support to our exciting program, based in Chantilly. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including systems services administration, server provisioning, network integration, repository management, network-attached storage management, hardware administration, and document and compliance management.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a TS/SCI and Poly in order to be considered for the position
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technology field, or equivalent industry experience
• Experience in administering Linux systems
• Expertise in configuring and administering Juniper and Cisco network devices
• Proficiency in managing network infrastructure hardware, including KVM switches, terminal servers, etc.
• Competency in setting up and managing virtualized environments such as VMWare and KVM
• Knowledge in managing power and environmental network hardware, including UPS, Remote Power Control (RPC), and rack cooling systems
• Skills in the configuration and administration of NAS devices, specifically QNAP and Synology

Desired Experience

• Juniper/Cisco Configuration administration experience
• Experience with optical systems and testing hardware including OTDR, OSA, and power meters
• Skills and experience in managing projects effectively
• Master's or PhD in Engineering or Technology

Target salary range $140,001 - $180,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
