KBR is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support a U.S. Air Force customer across a range of complex program needs.

The role requires a strong DoD background and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders at various levels, in a Wright-Patterson AFB, OH setting. The successful candidate will develop, analyze, and manage system requirements and acquisition documentation, collaborating with program leadership and contracting officers.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 10 years of related experience, including at least 5 years with DoD customers.
  • Clear ability to develop and manage system requirements and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to communicate issues, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support development, management, and traceability of functional and non-functional system requirements throughout the lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain technical and acquisition documentation, including SRDs, RTMs, SOWs, architecture docs, test cases, and design reviews.
  • Support regular team meetings, technical evaluations, design reviews, and review of CDRL deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and recommend enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

KBR is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support a U.S. Air Force customer across a range of complex program needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Department of Defense (DoD) and industry systems engineering, a proven ability to operate effectively in dynamic team environments, and the initiative to work independently with minimal oversight. This role requires proactive engagement with diverse stakeholders and the flexibility to assume multiple roles as program needs evolve. The Systems Engineer will work closely with program leadership, engineers, and contracting officers to provide systems engineering support to the government customer throughout the acquisition lifecycle. The successful candidate will lead and/or support the development, analysis, and management of system requirements and acquisition-related technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support the development, management, and traceability of functional and non-functional system requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Develop, review, and maintain technical and acquisition documentation, including System Requirements Documents (SRDs), Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs), Statements of Work (SOWs), architecture documentation, test cases, and design review materials.
  • Support and participate in regular team meetings, technical evaluations, design reviews, and the review of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in systems engineering processes and recommend enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Work Environment:

Location: Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio

Travel Requirements: Moderate, up to 20-50%

Working Hours: Standard

Qualifications Required:
  • Approximately 10 years of related experience, to include at least 5 years supporting DoD customers
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Current Secret clearance and SCI eligibility required (SAR/SAP experience desired)
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing system requirements and technical documentation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical issues, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Ability to balance multiple project efforts, meet schedules/deadlines, and interface with contractors, FFRDC, Government, and US military personnel at various levels
  • Must reside in or be willing to work in the Wright-Patterson AFB, OH area
Qualifications Desired:
  • Experience supporting aircraft training, simulation, or modeling and simulation (M&S) programs
  • Experience supporting acquisition lifecycle activities, including technical reviews and evaluation of contractor deliverables (CDRLs)
  • Knowledge of digital engineering practices, MBSE, or system architecture frameworks
  • Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) Level II or III Certification (or equivalent) in Systems Engineering
