Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Systems Development Engineer I to join our team and contribute to transforming our supply chain technology architecture. You will design and deliver technology solutions, ensuring they are well-tested and maintainable, while learning engineering best practices and collaborating with your team.

The role includes mentoring interns, participating in design and post-incident reviews, and helping to hire new team members.

Qualifications

  • Experience programming in at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix and software deployment best practices.
  • Experience delivering maintainable, tested software and collaborating in an Agile environment.

In This Role, You Will
  • Solve straightforward technical problems using technology solutions composed of smaller or stand-alone components and processes
  • Deliver logical, maintainable solutions that use appropriate technologies and are delivered on time
  • Learn current engineering best practices and incorporate feedback to improve your work
  • Participate in your team's design, scoping, and prioritization discussions to understand business goals and customer needs
  • Take responsibility for the systems you inherit and produce, applying principles of operational excellence
  • Troubleshoot issues, research root causes, and thoroughly resolve defects
  • Help train and mentor interns, and potentially participate in the hiring process
Key job responsibilities

As a Systems Development Engineer I on our team, your primary responsibilities will include:

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
  • Knowledge of best practices for software deployment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
  • Experience with iterative, agile development methodologies (including scrum)
  • Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
