Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is seeking an engineer to guide requirements, ensure compliance, and collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, CAD, and other teams to meet program goals.

The role supports project schedules and budgets, contributes to innovative product design, and maintains customer and team communication to achieve system engineering objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 2+ years of related experience in Engineering, Program Management, Technical Sales and Engineering Management.
• Advanced degrees and certification may be required.
• AutoCAD, 3D modeling and electrical wiring software experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage requirements and compliance for a given program.
• Provide input to Mechanical, Electrical, CAD, Configuration Management and other teams.
• Support engineering schedules and budgets with Program Managers.
• Guide engineering personnel to meet current and future program requirements.
• Support quality, productivity, and innovation in new product design.
• Maintain communication with customers and team leads to meet system engineering goals.
• Provide engineering estimates and applications engineering support for quotes.
• Other duties may be assigned.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

Provide requirement guidance to the Engineering department as well as supporting the Application Engineering departments to ensure compliance with current and future customer requirements in support of engineering goal and objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for requirement management and compliance of a given program.
• Provides input to the other engineering departments to include but notwithstanding, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CAD, Configuration Management, New Product Development, Integrated Logistics Support departments, and Applications Engineering.
• Provides support to meet Engineering schedules and budgets in coordination with Program Managers.
• Contributes to providing direction and guidance of Engineering personnel to ensure the ability of the department to meet requirements of current and future program requirements.
• Provides support to ensure quality, productivity, and innovation in new product design.
• Maintains on-going communication with customers and team leads to accomplish program goals through systems engineering.
• Provides engineering estimates and applications engineering support for quotes as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering from accredited university.
• At least 2+ years of related experience in Engineering, Program Management, Technical Sales and Engineering Management required.
• Advance and Professional degrees and certification required.
• AutoCAD, 3D modeling and electrical wiring software experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office basic product suite required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Office environment.
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• 10% domestic travel.
