Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Cupertino, CA is seeking a software engineer to design, deliver and operate cloud offerings that enable high performance and scalability for AI/ML and HPC workloads. You will work with engineers across AWS to deliver next-generation platforms that improve our products and bottom line.

The role emphasizes designing and implementing complex architectural solutions, proactive issue resolution, and leading delivery with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ year designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling).
• 7+ years administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell or Ruby.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of complex architectural solutions for AWS accelerated server systems.
• Identify and resolve system deficiencies proactively, writing tactical code to address issues before they impact customers.
• Decompose large reliability, testability and diagnosis problems into clear tasks and lead delivery through yourself and others.
• Collaborate with SDEs, SDETs, hardware engineers, TPMs, managers and principals across multiple AWS services.
• Drive high quality and reliability into future/new designs for AWS accelerated server solutions.
