Job summary

NXP Semiconductors is seeking a software engineer to support customer applications for ARM-based microcontrollers. You will develop embedded C/C++ code and create practical software examples for peripherals, with hands-on testing and debugging of chips in a lab environment.

The role requires collaboration with customers, strong presentation skills, and the ability to convey technical content clearly. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a Master’s is preferred for this California-based position.

Qualifications

  • Embedded ARM processor experience with C/C++ for embedded systems.
  • Familiar with debugging tools and IDEs like Keil, IAR, and MCUXpresso.
  • Strong presentation skills and able to interact with customers.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.
  • Degree completed within the past two years.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer applications support for NXP ARM-based microcontrollers.
  • Develop C/C++ code for embedded systems and create software examples for peripherals.
  • Perform embedded peripheral testing and chip debugging with IDEs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, and test instruments.
  • Document test results and manage source code systematically.
  • Present technical material and interact with customers.

Job description

Job Summary

Customer applications support of NXP ARM-based microcontrollers C/C++ code development for embedded systems and creating software examples for peripherals.

Embedded peripheral testing and chip debugging with daily utilization of IDE tools, oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, and various test instruments. Testing chip signals, rise times, timing, clocks, etc.

Source code management and recording test results.

Presenting technical material and able to interact with customers.

Job Qualifications
  • Embedded Processor experience ARM processors C and C++ code development for embedded systems
  • Familiar with debugging tools and IDEs like Keil, IAR, and MCUxpresso
  • Strong presentation skills and able to interact with customers
  • Bachelors Required
  • Masters in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering Preferred
  • Degree completed within past two years

The base salary range for this position is as mentioned below per year.

Please note that the base salary range (OR hourly rate) is a guideline, and individual total compensation may vary based on a number of factors such as qualifications, skill level, work location, and other business and organizational needs.

This base pay range is specific to California and is not applicable to other locations.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range as of the date of this posting is: $117,800 to $162,000 annually
