Job summary

SimTech, Inc. in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on analyzing and integrating multiple systems into a System of Systems architecture, with on-site support during testing and on-going post-processing analysis.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in CS/Engineering, 2–5 years’ experience, and proficiency in Python or Matlab on Linux; C++ is a plus. U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret clearance is required, with some travel involved.

Qualifications

• BS degree in CS, Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution.
• 2–5 years of relevant systems analysis experience.
• Experience writing data analysis software using Python or Matlab on Linux.
• C++ experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support integration of multiple systems into a System of Systems architecture.
• Interpret interface specifications and analyze communication protocols (e.g., UDP).
• Provide on-site and post-processing real-time analysis support.
• Generate test reports from integration events.
• Develop and maintain analysis tools for integration tasks.
• Write clean, well-documented code and troubleshoot defects.
• Coordinate with government customers and team during reviews.
• Travel 4–5 weeks per year to support test events.

Responsibilities

• Provide analysis support for integration of multiple independent systems into a System of Systems architecture.
• Interpret the details of interface specifications, and analyze content of communication protocols (e.g., UDP).
• Provide real-time analysis support on-site during integration, as well as post-processing analysis support after testing occurs.
• Generate test reports detailing results from integration events.
• Develop, maintain, and operate analysis tools used to support integration tasks.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
• Maintain communication between team members and with government customer; participate in meetings which may include; test planning, data reviews, and team meetings.
• Some travel to support test events will be required. (4 to 5 weeks a year)

Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets

• Bachelor of Science Degree in: Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics, or relevant scientific Information Systems field, from an accredited institution.
• 2-5 years demonstrated relevant experience.
• Experience writing data reduction and analysis software using Python or Matlab on Linux operating systems.
• C++ experience is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Candidate must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
• Must be flexible and able to work in both office and lab environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and perform general office functions.
• U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance and ability to maintain required clearance.

Physical Description

Employees in these positions will function in a general office/cubicle setting environment, and laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software and testing equipment.

Will interact in a general office setting environment with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework.

May function in a specialized laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software and complex systems.

May move and test equipment of various weights.

Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear.

May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; travel occasionally for assigned work.
