Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Systems Analyst Advisor to drive scoping and delivery of Business Systems projects in a hybrid setup across Virginia and Georgia offices. The role requires a BA/BS in IT/CS and at least 6 years of experience, plus a 24/7 on-call rotation approximately every four months.

The candidate will translate business needs into functional requirements, mentor teams, and collaborate with architecture, infrastructure and learning groups to ensure timely, high-quality solutions

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 6 years experience.
• Certifications as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst are strongly preferred.
• Experience with mainframe hardware and operating systems and the impacts of changes in the systems stream is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Rational tools, Six Sigma or other process improvement training is strongly preferred.
• Prior enrollment processes experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with FACETS software is highly preferred.
• Candidate with experience in an Agile work environment will be preferred.
• Knowledge of the healthcare sector is desirable.

Systems Analyst Advisor

Location: Norfolk, VA; Atlanta, GA; Richmond, VA

Hybrid 1: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

This position requires participation in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for seven consecutive days, approximately once every four months.

The Systems Analyst Advisor will be responsible for defining and managing the scope of Business Systems projects.

How you will make an impact:

• Defines functional, usability, reliability, performance and support requirements of a system.
• Creates and performs feature testing and determines environmental needs.
• Provides the link between the technical and business views of the system by ensuring that the technical solutions being developed will satisfy the needs of the business.
• Partners with business, architecture and infrastructure and oversees all service levels to ensure business area satisfaction.
• In depth knowledge of tools utilized.
• Works with the IT learning organization to mentor and assist in training initiatives and performs estimates for application functionality enhancements.
• Proactively works with stakeholders to identify future system opportunities and enhancements.
• Develops use cases.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 6 years experience in a variety of technologies, documenting requirements and/or building test cases; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

• Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst certifications strongly preferred.
• Experience with mainframe computer, hardware and operating systems and the impacts of changes in the systems stream, testing/product quality processes, tools and methods strongly preferred.
• Experience with Rational tools, Six Sigma or other process improvement training strongly preferred.
• Prior experience in enrollment processes is advantageous.
• Familiarity with FACETS software is highly preferred.
• Candidate with experience in an Agile work environment will be preferred.
• Knowledge of the healthcare sector is desirable.
• Experience with SQL is a significant asset to the role.
