IntelliBee is seeking a Systems Administrator (VMS Admin) in Detroit, MI to implement and administer the Genetec Video Management System and related server infrastructure. The role requires hands-on expertise with VMS platforms and camera networks, along with cross-team collaboration for security projects.

The successful candidate will manage system components, maintain documentation, and participate in after-hours on-call rotations to ensure continuous surveillance operations.

Qualifications

• Two years administering Genetec SecurityCenter Enterprise or other Enterprise VMS applications.
• Two years administering AXIS cameras (or other brands).
• Two years maintaining/troubleshooting VMS infrastructure (servers, SAN, NAS, SQL, networking).
• Experience with enterprise authentication and networking for VMS deployments.

Responsibilities

• Administrate Genetec VMS application (configure, update, troubleshoot).
• Manage system architecture: Directory, Archiver, Media Gateway, failover components.
• Monitor system health, performance, and storage usage.
• Provide VMS system training for departments and airport entities.

Systems Administrator (VMS Admin)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Client is seeking qualified candidates for an onsite technical professional who will utilize their knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist with implementation and ongoing administration of the Authority's Security Surveillance Platform (Genetec Video Management System and server infrastructure for this system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administrate (configure, update, maintain, and troubleshoot) the Genetec Video Management System application.
• Manage system architecture including Directory, Archiver, Media Gateway, and failover components
• Monitor system health, performance, and storage utilization
• Administrate (configure, update, maintain, and troubleshoot) the AXIS cameras.
• Provide basic maintenance and troubleshooting for the VMS infrastructure components.
• Provide technical assistance and expertise for security surveillance projects.
• Collaborate with IT teams on servers, networking, and cybersecurity requirements
• Provide VMS system training for various WCAA departments and Airport entities.
• Write and maintain related technical documents.
• Maintain user roles, permissions, and audit tracking
• Available after hours / On Call Rotation
• Perform related duties as directed.

Education Requirement

• B.S in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. OR
• Associates Degree with Minimum 4 years of demonstrated experience working in an enterprise infrastructure environment in addition to the time required in the Minimum Qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two (2) years administering Genetec SecurityCenter Enterprise or other Enterprise VMS applications (Milestone, Exacq Vision, Intelliscene etc.)
• Two (2) years administering AXIS cameras (or others such as Pelco, Bosch, etc.)
• Two (2) years maintaining and troubleshooting VMS related infrastructure (including physical & virtual Servers, SAN, NAS, SQL server, Networking, etc. within a VMS application).

Preferred Qualifications (or equivalent):

• Experience commissioning and adding cameras, encoders, access control, analytics, and other security systems into VMS platforms
• Deep understanding of video streaming, encryption, recording, and retention best practices
• Experience troubleshooting VMS applications, video loss, network connectivity, and performance issues
• Familiarity with enterprise authentication and networking protocols related to VMS deployments
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and design coverage software
• Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
• Preferred certifications:
  • Genetec Security Center 5.x Enterprise
  • AXIS Certified Professional
