Job summary

The State University of New York at Buffalo is seeking a Systems Administrator II within Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) to maintain and enhance Windows server and cloud infrastructure across campus.

This campus-based role offers hybrid-work options and requires collaboration with UB IT teams to design, implement, and support critical IT services in a 24×7 environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in a computer/technical field or master’s with 1+ year. equivalent combos may be considered.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States by their start date.
  • Experience with Windows system administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-premises and cloud IT system support, including Windows servers.
  • Design and implement new on-premises and cloud IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Communicate professionally with teammates, management, and university constituents.
  • Maintain and improve technical knowledge and skills.
  • Work as part of a team.

Enterprise Infrastructure Services ( EIS ) at the University at Buffalo – Systems Administrator II

To utilize cutting-edge technologies and their expertise in computing and information systems to develop, manage, and support sophisticated IT services including server and cloud services. They play a pivotal role in maintaining the operational excellence of UB, recognized as the top public research university in New York and ranked among the top 40 public universities nationwide. This is a campus-based position with the possibility of hybrid-work.

Responsibilities
  • Provide on-premises and cloud IT system support, including windows servers
  • Design and implement new on-premises and cloud IT infrastructure and systems
  • Communicate professionally & effectively with teammates, management, peers, colleagues, and university constituents
  • Maintain and improve technical and professional knowledge and skills
  • Work as part of a team

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of experience in a computer/technical field OR master’s degree with one (1) year of experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Salary Range $80,000 - $90,000
