Job summary

People, Technology & Processes, LLC seeks a Systems Administrator for data center operations at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. A Secret minimum clearance is required, with Top Secret/SCI eligibility for handling classified systems.

The role includes maintaining server availability, backups, and compliance, across Windows and UNIX/Linux environments. You will patch, monitor, and upgrade servers, manage software lists, conduct vulnerability scans, and ensure restore SLAs.

Qualifications

• DoD 8140 / 8570.01-M baseline certification appropriate to the role with CE certification within six months

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, patch, and upgrade Windows and UNIX/Linux servers, including VMs
• Maintain an authorized software list and manage user accounts/permissions
• Apply vulnerability patches and run ACAS/SCAP and STIG configurations
• Perform data backups, archival, and recovery with high success rates
• Monitor data center environment, UPS systems, racks, and report deficiencies
• Perform server room cable and equipment maintenance to standards

Job description

Position Title : Systems Administrator / Data Center Operations
Location : Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD
Clearance required : Secret minimum (Tier 3 / T3R); Top Secret / SCI eligible (Tier 5 / T5R) required to administer classified systems or networks or for critical- or special-sensitive duties.
Scope of Work: Performs systems administration and data center operations for ATEC servers and infrastructure, sustaining 99.95% server availability and managing backups, compliance, and environmental monitoring.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Build, maintain, patch, and upgrade Windows and UNIX/Linux servers, including virtual machine environments
• Maintain an authorized software list and perform user account and permissions management
• Apply vulnerability patches and STIG/SRG configurations and run ACAS and SCAP compliance scans
• Perform data backup, archival, and recovery, sustaining a 98% or better backup success rate and meeting restore service levels
• Monitor data center environment, UPS systems, network racks and report and correct deficiencies
• Perform server room cable and equipment remediation and ongoing maintenance to industry standards Qualifications
