Job summary

A leading IT services company is seeking a skilled System Administrator to support the NAWCAD customer at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The successful candidate will manage systems and applications on end-user devices and servers, with essential tasks including operating system patching and vulnerability management. SMX is seeking a skilled System Administrator to support our NAWCAD customer at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The successful candidate will manage and troubleshoot the operating systems and applications on end-user devices and servers in a lab environment and will work directly with the ISSO and cybersecurity team to maintain secure, compliant operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Cradle to grave system administration for endpoints and servers
• Operating systems and application patching and updates
• Vulnerability scanning and mitigation
• Apply STIGs
• Backup and recovery
• Documentation support

Required Skills & Experience

• Clearance Required: Top Secret
• 3+ years of experience
• Must have thorough troubleshooting skills
• Experience supporting the latest Windows end user devices and servers
• Experience with compliance assurance including apply STIGs, patches, and scanning for accreditation efforts
• Experience with hardware troubleshooting and support
• Security+ or other IAT Level II (or higher) certification

Desired Skills & Experience

• Linux-based systems administration experience
• Bachelor's degree is strongly desired
