Job summary

Foxhole Technology seeks a Systems Administrator to support enterprise systems in a secure DoD environment. The role offers hands-on experience across multiple platforms, with a clear path to grow within a security-focused team.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in help desk, desktop support, and systems administration, plus DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification. Active Secret clearance with TS eligibility is required, and experience with Windows Server or Linux is expected.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine system tasks: user accounts, password resets, access permissions.
• Monitor system functionality and diagnose hardware/software issues.
• Support updates, patches, and antivirus per DoD directives (STIGs/IAVM).
• Maintain Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy with guidance from senior admins.
• Contribute to RMF-based control implementation and security compliance.
• Update system documentation and configuration records.
• Assist in backup and restoration procedures to ensure continuity.

Foxhole Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator who is eager to grow their IT career by supporting enterprise systems within a secure Department of Defense (DoD) environment. This position offers valuable hands‑on experience across multiple platforms and tools, making it ideal for candidates with a foundational understanding of IT operations and a strong interest in cybersecurity and system maintenance.

Job Description:

• Carry out routine system tasks such as user account setup, password resets, and access permissions
• Monitor system functionality and help diagnose hardware and software-related issues
• Support the rollout of updates, patches, and antivirus solutions in compliance with DoD cybersecurity directives (STIGs/IAVM)
• Help maintain core services like Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy under the guidance of senior administrators
• Contribute to security compliance efforts through participation in RMF-based control implementation
• Aid in updating system documentation, including configuration records and procedural guides
• Assist in executing backup and restoration procedures to ensure system continuity

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance with Eligibility for TS.
• Minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience in help desk, desktop support and systems administration.
• Must have a current DoD 8140/ (8570) IAT Level II approved certification (i.e. CompTIA Security+ CE)
• Experience managing operating systems, user permissions, and file structures
• Administration experience with either Windows Server or Linux systems
• Ability to follow structured processes, maintain clear documentation, and escalates issues when needed
• Strong interest in learning and contributing to a mission‑driven, security‑focused team
• Provide operational support for cybersecurity tools such as HBSS, ACAS, and SIEM technologies

Illinois Pay Range

$70,000—$79,000 USD
