Job Summary
- Configures, tests, troubleshoots, upgrades/modifies, andmaintains file, print, application, web, database servers andrelated technologies, including hardware configuration, operatingsystem installation and support, security and configuration, backupstrategies, business continuity strategies, and best practices onmodernizing systems in relation to changing technologies.
- Monitors systems configuration(s) to ensure data integrity andoptimum system performance metrics are obtained.
- Ensures compliance with federal and university policies andstandards.
- Analyzes and evaluates new capabilities and emergingtechnologies; implements new systems and improves existing ones allthe while making sure established protocols and procedures arefollowed.
- Participates in bug reporting and isolation, test caseauthoring and refinement, automation scripts, and works closelywith other teams (engineering, cross functional and cross campus)to resolve problems.
- Documents systems administration practices and processes(testing, upgrades/modifications, issue/problem resolution).

- Bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science or a relatedfield)

- Experience with programmatic use of LLMs, AI, and relatedsystems. Integration of data sources into LLMs via MCP or similarprotocols
- Familiarity with deploying and operating OpenStack, Ceph, orother private cloud infrastructure
- Experience with application containerization platforms such asdocker and podman
- Experience with kubernetes application deployment methodssuchas helm or kustomize
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and tooperate a computer and other standard office productivityequipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periodsof time moving around an office environment and the campus. Theperson in this role must be able to perform the essential functionswith or without an accommodation.

This position is eligible for remote work or to work a hybridschedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to changein the future based on university policy and business needs.
