Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Systems Administrator with AWS cloud experience in a Windows environment to perform O&M/A&A/patching duties and assist with managing/upgrading SQL Servers.

The candidate must be proficient in the MS Product Suite to help move COTS products into the cloud; SPLUNK experience is emphasized over McAfee. The role involves system engineering tasks, DR planning, and occasional after-hours work.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly.
  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years experience, or Master's and 10+ years, or 16+ years experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Experience supporting a stand-alone environment.
  • Experience planning and leading software modifications and upgrades.
  • Experience managing an on-premises virtual infrastructure.
  • Experience planning, implementing, and maintaining a Disaster Recovery Site.
  • Experience transitioning on-prem to a VPC.
  • Experience managing MS Product Suite, MS Server 2012/2019 and MS SQL.
  • Experience administering SPLUNK.
  • Experience administering McAfee.
  • Experience interacting with end users to provide guidance and hands-on support to resolve problems.
  • Experience maintaining system accreditation.
  • Experience conducting security audits of virtual environments with external groups.

Responsibilities

  • Look for a Systems Administrator with AWS cloud experience in Windows environment to perform O&M/A&A/patching duties and assist with SQL Server management.
  • Proficient in the MS Product Suite to move COTS products to cloud.
  • Provide operational/system admin tasks and remediation of system risks.
  • Collaborate with the customer for work prioritization.
  • Execute system engineering tasks to support IT enterprise.
  • Provide technical support and resolve escalated issues.
  • Plan and manage hardware and software upgrades.
  • Serve as lead for select IT contractors.
  • Support the cloud adoption through TEMs, A&A efforts, DR implementation.
  • Occasional night/weekend/holiday work as necessary.

Description

Leidos is looking for a Systems Administrator with AWS cloud experience in a Windows environment to perform O&M/A&A/patching duties as well as assist with managing/upgrading their SQL Servers. Candidate must be proficient in the MS Product Suite to help move their COTS products into their cloud environment. SPLUNK experience is more important than McAfee.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Looking for a Systems Administrator with AWS cloud experience in a Windows environment to perform O&M/A&A/patching duties as well as assist with managing/upgrading their SQL Servers.
  • Candidate must be proficient in the MS Product Suite to help move their COTS products into their cloud environment.
  • Expectation requires support specializing in system engineering to perform operational and system administrative tasks, identify and remediate system risks, and implement proactive solutions that address evolving technological infrastructure needs.
  • The SE will work closely with the customer for work prioritization.
  • The SE will execute systems engineering tasks as necessary to support the main information technology enterprise.
  • The SE will provide technical support and assist in the resolution of escalated technical issues.
  • The SE will plan and manage hardware (HW) and software (SW) modifications and upgrades.
  • The SE will serve as lead for select IT contractors.
  • The SE will support the activities and future growth of the customer's virtual environment through vendor discussions, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), system patching and upgrades, Assessment & Accreditation (A&A) efforts, backup solutions, and Disaster Recovery (DR) implementation in furtherance of an adoption of a cloud environment.
  • The SE will work occasional nights, weekends, and Holidays as necessary.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must have an active TS/SCI with Poly.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 12 years of experience OR a Master's and at least 10 years of experience OR 16+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

* The below skills are required by the client. Due to the mission's pace, some of the required skills must be currently in use or have been used within the last six months.

  • Experience serving as a team lead.
  • Experience supporting a stand-alone environment.
  • Experience planning and leading software modifications and upgrades.
  • Experience managing an on-premises virtual infrastructure.
  • Experience planning, implementing, and maintaining a Disaster Recovery Site.
  • Experience transitioning an on-premises virtual solution to a virtual private cloud (VPC).
  • Experience managing MS Product Suite, MS Server 2012/2019 and MS SQL
  • Experience administering a vulnerability assessment tool, for example Rapid7 and Nessus.
  • Experience managing virtual appliance suites, for example Nutanix and Rubrik.
  • Experience administering SPLUNK.
  • Experience administering McAfee.
  • Experience interacting with end users to provide guidance and hands‑on support to help resolve problems, concerns, and errors and to explain or demonstrate procedures and techniques.
  • Experience maintaining system accreditation.
  • Experience conducting security audits of virtual environments in collaboration with external groups.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting TeamMate+, TeamMateAM, and TeamMate Analytics .
  • Experience supporting Case Management Tracking System (CMTS).
  • Experience supporting Idea.
  • Experience making virtual machine configuration changes necessary to resolve trouble tickets or to comply with customer's requirements and IT best practices
  • Experience administering user access by adding and deleting user accounts, maintaining user permissions and access privileges.
  • Experience making application software and operating system configuration changes necessary to resolve trouble tickets or to comply with Sponsor requirements and IT best practices.
  • Experience implementing, with oversight, the customer's requirements.
  • Experience evaluating and mitigating software security vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with the customers unique IT infrastructure and ongoing projects.
  • Experience with the customer's audit and analysis software packages.
  • Experience communicating orally and in writing with stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting data transfer operations.
  • Experience executing O&M tasks as necessary to support the Sponsor's software and hardware infrastructure.

Pay Range

Pay Range Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
