Job summary

SSM Health is seeking a seasoned security leader to develop and manage security strategies across our multi-state system. You will direct facilities practice and standards, guiding internal stakeholders and external partners to maintain safe environments for patients, visitors and employees.

The role requires strategic direction, strong budgeting skills, and collaboration with law enforcement. A Bachelor's degree in a related field and extensive leadership experience are essential.

Job Summary:

Develops short- and long-term security strategies and operations across our multi-state system. Utilizes metrics and organization vision to lead and direct strategic facilities practice and standards. Leads internal stakeholders and external partners to establish a sector-leading organization designed to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities

• Serves as a member of the leadership team providing strategic direction on a systematic security approach, inclusive of all regions, markets and facilities. Provides guidance and recommendations on prioritization of identified needs to maintain protection.
• Works effectively as a team member in a dynamic executive environment in a matrix organization and promotes teamwork within and across the organization by maintaining positive relationships and utilizing effective problem-solving skills.
• Develops, reviews, and maintains and implements security policies and procedures for the system. Ensures compliance and maintains appropriate documentation. Provides awareness of security policies, procedures and programs throughout departments and regions.
• Oversees the operational and budgetary activities and capital plans to support security programs for the organization.
• Leads the development of security solutions to fulfill business strategies and to provide safe, secure and market competitive environments throughout all facilities and points of service delivery.
• Leads collaboration with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, and maintains liaison status with all appropriate agencies.
• Oversees human resource management for the assigned area creating a culture of employee engagement. Ensures HR policies are administered consistently across function. Organizes departmental areas through appropriate structure and delegation of functions. Identifies succession planning needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in police administration, law enforcement or related field, or equivalent years of experience and education

Experience

• Fifteen years' experience with five years in a leadership position.
