Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a System Validation Engineer to validate Access Control features across vehicle, mobile app, cloud, and embedded platforms. You will lead end-to-end validation, defect triage, and test automation, collaborating with software, hardware, and supplier teams to ensure secure, production-ready digital key experiences.

The role focuses on Digital Key, NFC, BLE, Diagnostics, OTA, and Passive Entry, requiring strong knowledge of UDS/ISO 14229 and hands-on CAN tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; strong domain knowledge in automotive validation.
  • 3+ years of experience in Automotive Validation, Integration Testing, or Development Verification.
  • Strong knowledge of UDS Diagnostics (ISO 14229) and CAN/CAN-FD networks.
  • Hands-on experience with CANoe, CANalyzer, and automotive debugging tools.
  • Experience with digital wallet implementations (Apple/Google/Samsung) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks and regression tests using Python and CAPL.
  • Support digital key interoperability testing across Apple, Google, and Samsung ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure feature delivery and release readiness.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented System Validation Engineer to support validation of next-generation electric vehicle Access Control systems. This role will focus on validatingDigital Key, NFC, BLE, Diagnostics, OTA Updates, and Passive Entry features across vehicle, mobile application, cloud, and embedded platforms.

The ideal candidate will drive end-to-end feature validation, defect triage, root cause analysis, and test automation activities while ensuring a seamless and secure customer experience. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to validate features, investigate issues, and support production readiness of vehicle access technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform system-level and vehicle-level validation of Digital Key, NFC, BLE, Diagnostics, OTA, and Passive Entry features.
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and validation strategies for customer-facing access control functionality.
  • Lead defect triage, debugging, and root cause analysis across hardware, embedded software, mobile applications, and cloud services.
  • Validate UDS diagnostics services (ISO 14229), DTC behavior, and ECU communication.
  • Analyze NFC, BLE, CAN, CAN-FD, and Ethernet communication logs to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks and regression tests using Python and CAPL.
  • Support digital key interoperability testing across Apple, Google, and Samsung mobile ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, mobile, and supplier teams to ensure successful feature delivery and release readiness.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Automotive Validation, Integration Testing, or Development Verification.
  • Strong knowledge of UDS Diagnostics (ISO 14229), CAN / CAN-FD Networks
  • Hands-on experience with CANoe, CANalyzer, and automotive debugging tools.
  • Experience with Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet Digital Key implementations.
  • Familiarity with Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) Digital Key concepts and certification testing.
  • Strong programming and automation skills using Python and CAPL.
  • Experience with system integration, debugging, and root cause analysis.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
  • Familiarity with Secure Elements (SE), PKI, and secure authentication concepts.
  • Experience with Jira and automotive development processes (ASPICE / V-Model).
