Howmet Aerospace Inc. - Rochester, NY site is seeking a System Specialist to provide hardware support and maintain the IS department under the IS Manager. The role involves administering manufacturing software, updating systems, and managing Windows Server networks.

Eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus. On-site work at the Rochester forging plant with a strong emphasis on reliability and rapid incident response.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 3+ years in hardware troubleshooting/MIS.
• Experience with Windows operating systems.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.
• Associate or Bachelor in CS/IT preferred; hardware troubleshooting certs are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide hardware support to computer end users.

• Troubleshoot and repair network wiring/connections and PCs as needed.
• On-call for system down and mission-critical events.

Responsibilities

Howmet Engines is looking for a System Specialist.

This position is located at our aerospace forging plant in Rochester, NY.This position is eligible for $1,000.00 sign-on bonus.

Summary

Provide hardware support as needed and maintain/improve the caliber of the Information Systems (IS) department as directed by the IS Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Portray Howmet Aerospace in a positive manner, i.e. capabilities, systems, equipment, co-workers, management, etc. at all times.

Provide hardware support to computer end users.

Responsible for administering Manufacturing software packages on Company network, installing all updates, and performing administrative tasks within the manufacturing database.

Responsible for PC user interfaces, Web integration, and development of Windows Server networks.

Configure Company personal computers per Corporate requirements.

Install and maintain software as directed.

Troubleshoot and repair network wiring/connections as needed.

Troubleshoot and repair Company personal computers as needed.

Upgrade systems and correct errors to maintain systems after implementation.

Will be on-callfor systems being down and mission critical events.

Perform other work-related duties as assigned by IS Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent GED from an accredited institution.

Minimum 3 years of experience in hardware troubleshooting, MIS, or related roles.

Experience withWindows operating systems.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related IT field from an accredited institution.

Training certificate or license in hardware troubleshooting.

Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills that extend to all levels of the organization.

Demonstrated ability to protect confidential information and maintain positive working relationships with diverse employee groups and external customers.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Salary Range: $50,000 to $90,000 depending on experience
