Job summary

A leading technology firm in Sunnyvale, California is looking for a System Safety Engineer to define and manage safety architecture for autonomy software and hardware. The role requires at least 5 years of experience in safety engineering and expertise in ADAS, with knowledge of relevant automotive standards. This is a full-time position with compensation ranging from $118,000 to $250,000 annually and includes equity and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a System Safety Engineering role or Functional Safety Engineering role.
• Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262, ISO 21448, and UL4600 standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage the safety architecture and requirements for autonomy software and hardware.
• Lead efforts for development of safety architecture.
• Perform safety analysis such as FMEA, FTA, and STPA.

Skills

5+ years of experience in System Safety Engineering or Functional Safety Engineering

Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering

Experience with ADAS and autonomous systems

Strong collaboration skills

Education

MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or equivalent
