Job summary

Cook County Health and Hospitals System is seeking a System Assistant Director of Pharmacy to oversee quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and staff development within the Pharmacy Administration. This role also leads the Medication Safety Office, coordinating adverse drug reaction reporting and medication error initiatives.

The position requires collaboration with health care providers across all System facilities to improve the safety of medication systems and processes, and is exempt

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist in Illinois with PharmD degree or equivalent.
• 2+ years hospital pharmacy experience; 2+ years in management.
• Experience with QA, audits, JCAHO, CMS surveys.
• Experience with USP 795/797/800 regulations and SOPs.
• Root Cause Analysis and CAPs experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pharmacy quality program and safety initiatives.
• Lead adverse drug reaction reporting and medication safety efforts.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across System Pharmacies.
• Develop staff training and professional development programs.
• Collaborate with health care providers to improve medication safety.
