Job summary

Axiom Space in the United States seeks a System Performance Engineer to support the EVA SE&I team by assessing and reporting EVA spacesuit performance. You will develop metrics, dashboards, and tooling to inform design decisions and NASA deliverables.

Ideal candidates have Python and SQL experience, systems engineering background, and the ability to communicate complex data to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy experienced System Performance Engineer to support the EVA SE&I team. The System Performance Analyst will be responsible for assessing, tracking, and reporting overall system performance of the EVA spacesuit.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement integrated system performance analysis metrics for the Axiom EVA program.
  • Identify and track key technical performance metrics that demonstrate the Axiom space suit's performance, such as system mass and power consumption.
  • Contribute to management, organization, and analysis of test data to inform system metrics.
  • Develop and implement tooling to perform analysis of test data
  • Develop and implement mechanisms for maturing these metrics as system fidelity increases.
  • Collaborate across the organization to ensure system metrics are up to date, and coordinate integration of analysis products for NASA delivery.
  • Create and maintain system performance dashboards and other data visualization tools.
  • Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Implementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned

Education & Experience
  • Experience presenting technical data to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with using python, and SQL to manage, organize, and query large volumes of data.
  • Experience with using python to develop tooling for performing analysis
  • Experience performing engineering analyses, including but not limited to mass analysis, consumables analysis, thermal analysis, power systems analysis, etc.
  • Experience in systems engineering and space flight system development
  • Experience leading design trades and performance assessments
  • Track record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Uses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges.
  • Demonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high-quality results.
Level II

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field (ABET-accredited preferred), required across all levels.

2-6 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Level III

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field (ABET-accredited preferred), required across all levels.

4-9 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Level IV

Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Engineering, preferred for Levels II-V and strongly preferred for Levels VI-VII.

7-12 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Level V

Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Engineering, preferred for Levels II-V and strongly preferred for Levels VI-VII.

10-16 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
