Job summary

Validation & Engineering Group, Inc. seeks a Systems Owner to provide technical ownership and operational support for pharmaceutical inspection equipment, focusing on vial and syringe inspection.

You will coordinate across Engineering, Maintenance, Validation, Quality, and Manufacturing to keep systems qualified and reliable. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10+ years in pharma/biotech engineering, with hands-on capability in inspection equipment and GMP processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years pharma/biotech engineering or manufacturing experience.
• Experience with pharmaceutical inspection equipment, preferably automated visual inspection systems.
• Knowledge of GMP, equipment qualification, deviations, and change control.
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as System Owner and primary technical contact for assigned inspection equipment.
• Provide technical support for vial and syringe inspection systems.
• Maintain equipment in a qualified, compliant, and reliable state.
• Coordinate activities across Engineering, Maintenance, Automation, Validation, Quality, Manufacturing and vendors.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and support root cause investigations.
• Support deviations, CAPAs, change controls, preventive maintenance, and equipment improvements.
• Review system performance and identify reliability and process improvement opportunities.
• Support qualification, requalification, commissioning, and equipment modifications.
• Maintain equipment documentation, drawings, specifications, SOPs, and system records.
• Support manufacturing personnel with equipment-related technical issues.
• Provide technical leadership within the assigned manufacturing area.

Position Summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Approximately 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech engineering, equipment, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with pharmaceutical inspection equipment, preferably automated visual inspection systems.
• Experience with vial and/or syringe inspection operations strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of GMP requirements, equipment qualification, troubleshooting, deviations, and change control.
• Strong hands‑on technical capabilities and equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative attitude, and ability to work effectively with Manufacturing personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of equipment and coordinate activities across multiple departments.
