Job Description Summary

System Integration and Test (I&T) Engineer 1 serves as the system integrator for technologies and product lines developed using Draper's core capabilities. In this role they plan, execute, and manage I&T activities from early test concept development through system certification, including functional simulation, subsystem and system integration and test, verification and validation, performance evaluation, and acceptance testing. I&T Engineers leverage multidisciplinary engineering expertise and collaborate with other Systems Engineers to establish clear, verifiable, and traceable requirements, inform and drive system concepts, architectures, and designs to promote testability, and utilize resident expertise and lessons learned to support the development of highly reliable, robust, and complex systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Define an I&T approach for a particular component, subsystem, or system and independently execute the plan.
• Contribute high‑quality content for technical reports and presentations with minimal guidance.
• Adapt appropriately to changes in program requirements.
• Proactively identify needs and concerns associated with plan execution and communicate them to project leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.

Experience

Requires 3–5 years in Systems Engineering or a relevant role.

Additional Job Description

• Experience with environmental testing is a plus.
• Proficiency in standard coding languages such as MATLAB and Python is preferable.
