Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years in industrial automation, controls engineering, or systems integration.
  • Advanced knowledge of control systems design, automation platforms, PLC/DCS/SCADA integration.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex automation projects.
  • Proficiency with MS Project and managing scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management across technical and executive audiences.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance in engineering delivery.

This Engineering Manager role offers the opportunity to lead technical delivery across complex control-system projects, shape engineering standards and practices, and mentor high-performing teams while partnering with project management and business development to drive successful outcomes. The position blends technical leadership, project execution, and people development and may require travel to customer sites as project needs dictate.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical delivery and engineering execution across multiple automation and control-system projects simultaneously, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
  • Define, review, and approve system architecture and control-system designs, driving robust integration strategies and technical decisions.
  • Develop and implement company-wide engineering design philosophies, standards, and best practices to improve quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business development, and stakeholders to support technical proposals, presentations, and solution strategies.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to project teams on engineering, operational, and financial considerations, including risk mitigation.
  • Ensure adherence to quality management systems, safety standards, and continuous improvement in engineering workflows and documentation.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering staff, managing workloads, performance feedback, staffing, and career progression.
Must-Have Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
  • Typically 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or systems integration environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of control systems design, automation platforms, PLC/DCS/SCADA integration, and industrial system integration principles.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex automation projects.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project and strong ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and executive audiences.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance in engineering delivery.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license, PMP, or relevant industry certifications (e.g., ISA).
  • Hands-on experience with major PLC and control platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Honeywell, Emerson).
  • Familiarity with contract management, commercial considerations, and proposal development.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites as project needs require (up to ~50%).
