Job summary

ADAPT Community Network is seeking a Network Engineer to ensure the stable operation and integrity of the agency’s data, voice, and wireless network services. The role includes installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of all network hardware and software, with focus on reliability and data backups.

You will support disaster recovery planning, work with vendors, and document procedures for network installations across data, voice, and video systems.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer science, information sciences, or related field with three years of equivalent experience.
  • Solid knowledge of Dell Servers and Equalogic SAN.
  • Admin-level experience with Windows Server 2016+, AD, DNS, and Group Policy.
  • Linux familiarity; admin-level Exchange experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 & Azure AD and infrastructure.
  • Experience with VMware ESXi and related virtual appliances.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage servers and server OS components including AD, GC, DCs, and updates.
  • Deploy and manage security solutions (firewall, anti-virus, IDS).
  • Deploy and manage physical/virtual servers and OSs; manage LAN/WAN and wireless networks.

SUMMARY

The Network Engineer’s role is to ensure the stable operation and integrity of the agency’s data, video, voice, and wireless network services. The Network Engineer will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, as well as all infrastructure-related network components. The Network Engineer will also analyze and resolve network, hardware and software problems and is responsible for ensuring the successful backup of all identified network-based data, to ensure minimal downtime.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proactively manage all servers and server operating system components; Active Directory, GC, DCs, server upgrades and updates.
  • Deploy and manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Deploy and manage physical and virtual servers and their associated operating systems and server-based application software.
  • Deploy and manage LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, Internet, UPSs, wireless access points, smartphones, tablets, and other hardware.
  • Ensure consistent network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony and video equipment, and other network appliances.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and firmware upgrades.
  • Monitor network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
  • Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plan.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement efforts.
  • Responsible for daily monitoring, maintenance and testing of data backups in support of business continuity, disaster recovery and data restoration capabilities.
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures manuals, and help sheets for all network installations, including data, voice, and video systems.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory.
  • Provide training and support to help desk support staff on network issues.
  • Notify and update the Network Manager of all equipment problems and document their resolution or system changes.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Four-year College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information sciences, or related field and three years equivalent work experience.
  • Solid knowledge of Dell Servers and Equalogic SAN.
  • Administrator-level experience with server operating systems, including Windows 2016 and 2016 Active Directory, group policy, DNS.
  • Linux familiarity
  • Administrator-level experience with Exchange 2016 or later.
  • VOIP Telephone Solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 & Azure Active Directory and Infrastructure
  • Experience with server software including BES, Barracuda Backup, Anti-Virus.
  • Experience with Meraki firewall and switches, and Sonicwall firewall.
  • Administrator-level experience with VMware ESXi, Vcenter server, virtual appliances and iSCSI and fiber communications.
  • Experience with an EHR/EMP solutions and workflow.
  • Hardware support and troubleshooting experience.
  • Network design/assessment experience.
  • Practical understanding of routing protocols and networking fundamentals.

$70,000.00 Annually + Industry Leading Benefits!
