Job summary

Pinnacle Government Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer to oversee applications infrastructure across networks, support to ensure secure operations, and contribute to security compliance. The role requires on-call duties in a 24/7 rotation and collaboration with developers and management.

Ideal candidates have TS/SCI with polygraph, 2+ years in system engineering or DevOps, and strong Linux/Unix, Git, and scripting skills, plus experience with Agile methods and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance w/ polygraph.
• 2+ years experience in system engineering, testing, or DevOps.
• CI/CD pipelines experience with automated testing tools.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix, Git, and scripting (Python, Bash).
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.

We are looking for a Systems Engineer that will be responsible for the applications infrastructure across all networks, technical support to make application security compliant, and tech precepts implementation. This position is contractually responsible to be part of a 24/7 on call rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Implementation: Design, install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Monitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
• Security & Redundancy: Implement and maintain robust security measures, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop custom scripts to automate tasks and improve system efficiency.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network components.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, management, and other departments to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system architecture, procedures, and support.
• Technology Evaluation: Research and assess emerging technologies for potential upgrades or new implementations.

Required Skills:

• Active TS/SCI clearance w/ polygraph.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in system engineering, testing, or DevOps roles.
• CI/CD Knowledge: Proven experience configuring CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools.
• Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix, version control (Git), and scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar).
• Methodology: Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with test frameworks .
