Job summary

Tallon is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a client program in Twentynine Palms, CA. The role focuses on operating and maintaining end-to-end technical solutions, with hands-on work on-site and in lab environments.

Candidates should hold a Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and 2–4 years of related engineering experience. The position requires strong networking, security implementation, and ability to work with government and contractor teams.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Current Secret security clearance (at a minimum).
• 2–4 years of related experience with computer technology engineering.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Telecommunications or related field; equivalent years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Excellent knowledge of installation and configuration of routers and switches.
• Experience with STIG, RMF, and software security implementation.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and exercise problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
• Strong partnership interaction experience with the ability to manage complex relationships across teams.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a collaborative team of government and contractor personnel maintaining, operating, and testing end-to-end customer solutions
• Support a variety of tasks including loading software, configuring, integrating, verifying, and troubleshooting solutions including third-party vendor products and customized solutions
• Implement and maintain solution security posture including STIG and RMF, as required
• Provide the technical interface to the customer for their specific AOR
• Communicating effectively with technical and non-technical personnel
• Proactively keeping skillsets up to date
• Interacting with managers, project/program managers, vendors and others as required to meet project schedules
• Ensure customer issues are handled promptly and accurately

Tallon is recruiting for a System Engineer to support our client's growing program. This is a great opportunity for someone separating from the military with experience supporting network operations for the G-6 at the MAGTFTC and MCAGCC at Twentynine Palms. Qualified candidates will have experience operating and maintaining end-to-end technical solutions, systems, and products and troubleshoot solutions on-site and in lab environments.

Security Clearance Requirement: Current Secret (at a minimum)

Job Type: Full Time offering competitive benefits

Location: Local to support on-site work

Travel: Anticipated less than 10%
