Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Arlington seeks a System Development Engineer to design, implement, and deploy software components for AWS services. You will work with highly scalable distributed systems, addressing customer needs and improving the overall experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional) as listed in basic qualifications.
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

The Amazon Web Services team is innovating new ways of building massively scalable distributed systems and delivering the next generation of cloud computing with AWS offerings like RDS and Aurora. The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
