Job description

System Development Engineer II, Customer Experience Infrastructure

Job ID: 10498800 | Amazon.com Services LLC

Is problem solving through teamwork in your DNA? Do you like the idea of seeing how your work impacts the bigger picture? Answer yes to any of these and you'll fit right in here at Amazon Robotics. We are a smart team of passionate doers that work to apply innovative advances in robotics and software to solve real-world challenges that will transform our customers' experiences in ways we can't even image yet. We invent new improvements every day. We are Amazon Robotics and we will give you the tools and guidance that you need to invent with us in ways that are rewarding, fulfilling and fun.

As a Systems Development Engineer on the Customer Experience Infrastructure team, you will contribute to building innovative self-service infrastructure management solutions that empower operations teams across Amazon's global fulfillment network. You'll help develop AWS-style services and automation tools that enable thousands of solution owners to discover, deploy, and manage their infrastructure needs independently.

Working alongside Senior SDEs and Principal Engineers, you'll implement features across foundational platform services, knowledge management systems, and AI-powered customer experiences. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, comfortable working across the stack, and excited about building tools that make complex infrastructure simple for customers.

Key job responsibilities
  • Build self-service tools and platform features that enable infrastructure discovery, deployment, and management for operations teams across Amazon's global fulfillment network.
  • Develop APIs, data pipelines, and integrations with AWS services and internal systems to create end-to-end automation that serves both technical and non-technical customer personas.
  • Write well-tested, production-ready code from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational assistance.
  • Work with product managers, UX designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver cohesive customer experiences and contribute to technical direction.
  • Enable the reliability and performance of production services, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to operational runbooks and monitoring improvements.
A day in the life

As a Systems Development Engineer on our team, you'll work on features across the CXI platform — implementing new capabilities, building integrations with infrastructure services, and contributing to AI-powered customer experiences. You'll be partnered with Senior SDEs and Principal Engineers who will guide your growth through code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical mentorship. You'll participate in sprint planning, contribute to design reviews, and gradually take on increasing ownership of features as you ramp. We encourage you to explore innovative AI tools and emerging technologies, bringing your learnings back to accelerate your development and drive innovation in self-service infrastructure solutions. This is a role where you'll grow your technical skills rapidly while contributing to products that directly impact Amazon's operations teams.

Benefits

Amazon offers a full range of benefits for you and eligible family members, including domestic partners. Benefits can vary by location, the number of regularly scheduled hours you work, length of employment, and job status such as seasonal or temporary employment.

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage
  • Maternity and Parental Leave Options
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 401(k) Plan
