Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Austin, Texas, is seeking a System Development Engineer II (AMZ008452) to join our team. You will build tools that automate fleet operations, respond to large-scale events, and diagnose critical failures to keep services running smoothly.

You will mentor engineers, provide daytime support for operational tickets, and collaborate with software teams to implement automation and provisioning solutions across Windows, Linux, and Unix environments using SQL Server databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, and one year of experience.
• Employer will accept three years of experience in the job offered or related as equivalent to a Bachelor's degree and one year of experience.
• One year of experience in supporting large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services.
• Experience designing and implementing provisioning platforms using shell scripting.
• Experience with programming languages including SQL, PowerShell, Perl, Bash, Python, PHP, or Ruby.
• Experience with MySQL, Oracle, or equivalent database servers.
• Troubleshooting in a Windows, Linux, or Unix based environment.

Basic Qualifications

Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science,
Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job
offered, or as a Systems Administrator, or a related occupation. Employer will accept three years
of experience in the job offered or related as equivalent to the Bachelor's degree and one year
of experience. Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s): supporting large-scale,
multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services;
designing and implementing platforms to deliver provisioning using shell scripting; experience
with programming languages including SQL, PowerShell, Perl, Bash, Python, PHP, or Ruby;
supporting and maintaining database servers including MySQL, Oracle, or equivalent database;
and troubleshooting systemic problems in a Windows, Linux, or Unix based environment.
40 hours/week, 8:00am – 5:00pm, Salary Range From $129,200.00 to $174,800.00
