Job summary

MemorialCare Health System in Southern California seeks a System Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to guide enterprise-wide financial strategy and capital planning. The role reports to the President and CEO and partners with the Board to advance growth, transformation, and disciplined stewardship of financial resources.

The CFO will oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, revenue cycle, tax, and controls, ensuring GAAP compliance and nonprofit reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, health administration, or related field required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive senior financial leadership experience in a complex healthcare organization.

Responsibilities

• Provides enterprise finance leadership for the health system across operating entities, corporate functions, and affiliated organizations.
• Oversees accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, reimbursement, revenue cycle, and internal controls.
• Maintains GAAP and nonprofit reporting compliance; ensures regulatory requirements are met.
• Leads annual budgets, long-range plans, liquidity and debt strategies.
• Partners with operational, clinical, strategy, managed care, philanthropy, and population health leaders to evaluate performance and margins.
• Drives finance transformation, automation, analytics, and digital capabilities.
• Builds a high-performing finance organization focused on accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, health administration, or related field

Master’s degree in business, finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or related field

CPA or equivalent credential
