Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated MECM/SCCM engineer to join our team in Norfolk, VA. This onsite role focuses on designing, deploying, and optimizing enterprise MECM/SCCM infrastructure and OS imaging workflows.

Responsibilities include patch management with ADRs, software deployment via PowerShell tooling, and troubleshooting client health. Requires DoD Secret clearance, IAT II, and strong Windows infrastructure skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 8+ years managing and optimizing MECM/SCCM environments.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+).
• Proficiency in MECM/SCCM architecture, OSD, and software updates.
• Strong PowerShell automation for endpoint management workflows.
• Deep knowledge of AD, GPOs, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience troubleshooting MECM client health, replication, and software distribution.

Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented SCCM/MECM (System Center Configuration Manager) /(Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) to join our team in Norfolk, VA . This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead the overall design, deployment, configuration, and optimization of the enterprise MECM/SCCM infrastructure.

• Build, refine, and maintain complex OS imaging task sequences, boot images, and PXE/WDS deployment configurations.

• Manage routine, emergency, and zero-day patching cycles using Automatic Deployment Rules (ADRs).

• Deploy, test, and validate software applications across the enterprise using PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit.

• Troubleshoot and resolve high-priority deployment failures, MECM client agent health issues, and site-system bottlenecks.

• Monitor MECM performance, patch compliance, and configuration security posture across all organizational districts.

• Implement and maintain automated compliance baselines to enforce DISA STIGs, SCAP compliance, and IAVM remediation.

• Develop advanced PowerShell scripts, WQL queries, and custom SQL queries to automate administrative tasks and reporting.

• Partner with cybersecurity, network, storage, and program leadership to align endpoint management with federal requirements.

• Author and update technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), system diagrams, and recovery runbooks.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma

• 8+ years of experience in managing, engineering, and optimizing enterprise MECM/SCCM environments

• Active Secret security clearance

• Current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II baseline certification (such as CompTIA Security+ CE for example)

• Proficiency in MECM/SCCM site architecture, Operating System Deployment (OSD), and software update administration

• Strong experience using PowerShell to automate systems administration and endpoint management workflows

• Deep understanding of core enterprise infrastructure including Active Directory, Group Policy (GPOs), DNS, and DHCP

• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex MECM client health, replication, and software distribution issues

• Strong troubleshooting skills, analytical problem-solving capability, and attention to technical detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

• Experience engineering endpoint solutions for large-scale federal or defense networks supporting 10,000+ nodes

• DISA ACAS Operator and Supervisor Course, Version 6.x

Clearance Requirements:

• Active DoD Secret Clearance

Physical Requirements:

• The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

• Must be able to move around the office and operate office equipment.

• Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
