Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced hardware architect to shape system-level HW/SW for AR/VR platforms.

You will partner with OEMs and cross-functional teams to translate use-case requirements into architecture, performance targets and HW/SW partitioning decisions. The role requires deep knowledge of graphics pipelines, computer-vision pipelines, and strong C/C++/Python skills, with 6+ years in systems engineering; a master or PhD is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Working closely with OEM partners to identify, understand and document use cases and implementations of VR and AR related technologies
• Leading technology, hardware, and software experts to translate use case requirements into implementation specifications
• Driving system level on-target profiling to inform forward architecture definition
• System level use case modeling to validate power and performance KPIs and optimize architecture definition
• Defining and executing HW-SW partitioning analyses
• Defining and executing HW-SW feature analysis to optimize for power and performance
• Collaborating with technology experts to drive strategic direction in cross-functional AR/VR related areas

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree and/or PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years experience in HW architecture/design with emphasis on areas listed above
• Proven experience in conducting architectural trade-offs, power/performance analysis and/or SW-HW trade-offs
• Extensive knowledge of graphics pipeline, computer vision pipelines, machine learning methods and/or camera pipelines
• Experience with system level modeling (performance and/or power)
• Outstanding problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication skills
• C/C++ and/or Python

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• Works in the lab, can use hazardous chemicals (e.g., glue, machinery).

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$179,000.00 - $268,400.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
