Job summary

Enterprise Solutions and Management (ESM) in Arlington, VA is seeking a System Administrator Senior to support an enterprise-level federal program. You will ensure stable operation of in-house software and networks, plan upgrades, and develop automation to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities include direct supervision of system admins, training, and remote maintenance across multiple locations, with emphasis on security, resilience, and performance. A Top Secret clearance is required.

Enterprise Solutions and Management (ESM) is a rapidly growing government contractor that provides strategic IT services that meet mission needs for Defense and Federal customers. We are hiring a System Administrator Senior to support an enterprise-level program within a federal environment.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Ensures the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. This

includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links.

Organizes and directs the configuration and operation of information management systems.

Analyzes and resolves end user software program and connectivity issues. Conducts capacity and performance analysis and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.

Increases system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develop system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessment.

Provides end user training. Provides recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision. Provides local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location.

Support includes general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications. Directs the work of other system administrators to provide the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance. Applies advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing applications, and ensuring fault tolerance. Performs vulnerability management.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

• Ability to install, configure, maintain, and optimize software systems, servers, network connections, and communication links.
• Knowledge of system administration, including system performance monitoring, capacity analysis, resource optimization, and upgrades.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software, network connectivity, and end-user issues across local and remote environments.
• Ability to develop automation scripts, system administration procedures, and training programs to improve operational efficiency and user proficiency.
• Ability to recommend technology improvements, manage system upgrades, and support business objectives across multiple locations.
• Knowledge of application networking, load balancing, fault tolerance, and vulnerability management to ensure system security, reliability, and availability.

Minimum Training, Education, and Certifications

• BA/BS in a technical discipline
• At least 10 years of specialized experience as an application systems administrator.
• Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
• Must have Security +
• Must have Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)

• Top Secret

• Required to stand, walk and sit; communicate verbally both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking (including stairs) throughout offices and between buildings. May require use of public transportation, personal or Government vehicle to drive to local and/or remote office locations.
