Independent Software, Inc. is seeking a System Administrator Level 1 to support the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and security of enterprise systems and applications used in mission-critical operations.

You will maintain servers, troubleshoot issues, support users, and help ensure systems remain secure, available, and performing effectively. Training and opportunities for growth are provided in a collaborative IT environment.

  • Support user account management, permissions, and access controls.
  • Install, configure, and deploy new systems, applications, and tools.
  • Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and standards.
  • Help implement and monitor security controls, including antivirus, endpoint protection, firewalls, and access management.
  • Participate in audits, risk assessments, and remediation activities.
  • Use monitoring tools to track system performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Respond to alerts, incidents, and outages and perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Prepare reports on system health, incidents, and improvements.
  • Collaborate with network, security, applications, and help desk teams on technical initiatives and projects.
  • Contribute to IT process improvements, standards, documentation, and system architecture improvements.

What You Will Do:

At Independent Software, as a System Administrator Level 1, you will support the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and security of enterprise systems and applications supporting mission‑critical operations. You will maintain servers and operating systems, troubleshoot system and network issues, support users, and help ensure systems remain secure, available, and performing effectively.

You will also support system upgrades and deployments, monitor system health and capacity, assist with security controls and compliance activities, and collaborate with IT teams across network, security, applications, and help desk functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, manage, and maintain servers, operating systems, and key applications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work Wednesday - Sunday, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
  • Must be available for the initial training schedule of Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Education and Experience:

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED and fifteen (10) years of relevant experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree and five(5) years of relevant experience
Certifications:
  • Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level I requirements
Clearance Requirement:
  • Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
