Job summary

DLS is seeking a System Administrator II (Big IP F5) for a full-time on-site role at Gunter Annex in Montgomery, Alabama, supporting the AF I Ntranet Control program. The engineer will manage Big IP F5 appliances, configurations, certifications, and security STIGs, ensuring system health and secure access for the DODIN.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years of Big IP F5 experience, IAT-II certification, and at least one F5 CTS/ADMIN cert; must pass a government background check.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with Big IP F5 products performing systems administration, including installations, configurations, monitoring system performance and availability, upgrades, troubleshooting, and certificate management.
• IAT-II Certification (required)
• At least 1 of the following: F5 CTS - LTM OR F5 CTS- APM OR F5 BIG-IP Certified Administrator

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, monitor F5 appliances, configurations, identify BIG-IP Traffic Processing Objects, and analyze health of multiple Big IP F5 instances.
• Manage application integration designs around authentication configuration, session management, redirects, rewrites, migration scenarios, app routing, CAC/PIV authentication.
• Support, troubleshoot and configure SSL intercept/inspection, web certificates, PKI bundles, private/public keys.
• Install, configure, and administer Big IP F5 Platform Suite with LTM and APM services.
• Install and patch Big IP F5 systems, document DISA STIGs checklists.
• Design and administer load balancing strategies in application switching and traffic management, with persistence and SSL certificates.
• Create and maintain documentation detailing architecture, configurations, monitoring & alerting, troubleshooting guides.

Position overview:

DLS Engineering is seeking a System Administrator II (Big IP F5) professional for a full-time position in support of the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) program at Gunter Annex in Montgomery, Alabama. This is an on-site position.

As part of AFINC, the mission of the 26th Network Operations Squadron (26 NOS) is to provide mission assurance to the warfighter through the operation, management, and defense of the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN). In the execution of its mission, the 26 NOS maintains network infrastructure, to include routers, switches, proxies, firewalls, servers, workstations, printers, Storage Area Networks (SAN) and test labs, to provide maneuverability and defense of both classified and unclassified networks.

A day in the life:

• Operate, maintain, monitor F5 appliances, configurations, identify BIG-IP Traffic Processing Objects, and analyze overall health and effectiveness of multiple Big IP F5 instances.
• Manage application integration designs around application logic and authentication configuration (session management, application redirects, rewrites, migration scenarios, app routing, CAC/PIV authentication).
• Support, troubleshoot and configure SSL intercept/inspection, web certificates, certificate management, PKI Certificate Authority (CA) bundles, private/public keys.
• Install, configure, and administer Big IP F5 Platform Suite referencing Web Applications with Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and Access Policy Manger (APM) services.
• Install and patch Big IP F5 systems, and document DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) checklists.
• Design and administrator load balancing strategies/ techniques, in application switching / traffic management, knowledge of persistence and SSL certificates.
• Create and maintain documentation detailing architecture components, configurations, monitoring & alerting setup, troubleshooting guides, and checklists.

The pay range for this role is:

75,000 - 77,000 USD per year (Montgomery, AL)
