For more than three decades, JMARK has served as a trusted IT partner across industries, helping businesses thrive with secure, reliable, and future-ready technology solutions.

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced IT professional who enjoys solving more complex technical problems, taking ownership of client environments, and helping other technicians grow?

JMARK Business Solutions is looking for a System Administrator II to join our team as a dedicated onsite IT resource for one of our banking clients. You will be a JMARK employee while working primarily onsite at the client's location, serving as a trusted technology partner and working closely with the broader JMARK technical team.

This position goes beyond traditional desktop support. You'll troubleshoot escalated technical issues, support servers and network infrastructure, identify recurring problems before they create larger disruptions, help maintain the overall health of the client's technology environment, and provide guidance to Level 1 technical resources.

At JMARK, we believe in People First. Technology Second. We're looking for someone who understands that technical expertise is most valuable when it helps people work effectively and businesses operate successfully.

What You'll Do

As a System Administrator II, you'll provide advanced onsite and remote support while taking greater ownership of the client's technology environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide responsive, professional onsite and remote technical support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues from Level 1 resources.
  • Identify, document, troubleshoot, and resolve workstation, server, network, application, and connectivity issues.
  • Manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and support client network infrastructure.
  • Maintain the health and efficiency of service queues, team boards, and client systems.
  • Review tickets and client environments to identify recurring or systemic technology issues.
  • Identify proactive solutions and either implement them or escalate more complex issues to Level 3 resources.
  • Ensure Routine Health Assessments are completed and assist Level 1 team members in meeting RHA requirements.
  • Assist with scheduling service cases and onsite work as needed.
  • Partner with Service and Project Managers on client-related projects.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, installations, upgrades, migrations, and technology deployments.
  • Accurately document technical work and resolutions within ConnectWise and other JMARK systems.
  • Review Level 1 ticket documentation to help ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality.
  • Recommend appropriate technology changes through JMARK's change-management processes.
Technical Responsibilities

This position will work across a variety of technologies and environments. You should be comfortable troubleshooting and supporting technologies including:

  • Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365.
  • Windows Server 2012 through 2019 environments.
  • Active Directory and advanced troubleshooting tools, including ADUC, RSOP, DCDiag, and DFUtil.
  • VMware and Hyper-V virtualization environments.
  • Remote Desktop Services.
  • Cisco, Meraki, and other VPN technologies.
  • IPv4 and IPv6 networking.
  • Routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, and network connectivity.
  • Endpoint security technologies including antivirus, anti-spam, anti-spyware, and related security solutions.
  • Server hardware and lights-out management technologies.
  • Client-specific line-of-business applications.

You'll also be expected to:

  • Troubleshoot server-related issues using PowerShell.
  • Develop and modify login scripts.
  • Install, upgrade, and migrate Windows workstations and servers.
  • Understand basic server and infrastructure migration paths.
  • Utilize JMARK's ConnectWise Suite, network management, monitoring, and documentation platforms.
  • Document service activity thoroughly and accurately.
Leadership and Mentoring

You don't need a management title to be a leader.

As a System Administrator II, you'll be expected to help strengthen the team around you by:

  • Serving as a technical resource for Level 1 team members.
  • Assisting Level 1 technicians with escalated issues.
  • Reviewing ticket documentation and providing constructive guidance.
  • Helping Level 1 team members improve client communication.
  • Sharing technical knowledge and areas of expertise with teammates.
  • Helping identify recurring technical issues and opportunities for proactive improvements.
  • Modeling ownership, accountability, professionalism, and exceptional client service.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who has moved beyond basic IT troubleshooting and is ready to take greater ownership of systems, client relationships, and technical outcomes.

You'll be successful in this role if you:

  • Have strong Windows desktop and server troubleshooting skills.
  • Can independently investigate and resolve moderately complex technical issues.
  • Understand Active Directory, virtualization, networking, VPN, and server technologies.
  • Are comfortable troubleshooting problems using PowerShell and advanced Windows tools.
  • Think proactively and look for the root cause instead of repeatedly fixing the same symptom.
  • Know when to continue troubleshooting and when an issue needs to be escalated.
  • Can prioritize and manage multiple technical issues in a fast-moving environment.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Stay calm and professional when users have urgent technology needs.
  • Enjoy teaching, mentoring, and helping less-experienced technicians develop.
  • Take ownership and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Enjoy learning new technologies and continuously developing your skills.
Experience

We're looking for candidates with approximately 18 to 36 months of experience working in a similar IT support, systems administration, or technical services position.

Equivalent experience through an apprenticeship program or demonstrated technical competency may also be considered.

More important than checking every box is your ability to demonstrate that you have the technical foundation, troubleshooting ability, communication skills, and initiative necessary to succeed at this level.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000 annually, depending on experience, technical knowledge, demonstrated competencies, and qualifications.

Professional Development

Technology doesn't stand still, and neither should your career.

JMARK encourages continued professional and technical development. In this role, you'll have opportunities to:

  • Participate in ongoing technical training.
  • Pursue manufacturer and software certifications.
  • Meet regularly with JMARK's Technical Trainer to develop and track your professional growth plan.
  • Stay current on technologies and industry trends.
  • Share new knowledge and best practices with other JMARK team members.
  • Develop deeper expertise in areas that interest you.
  • Mentor other technical team members.
  • Participate in company-sponsored activities related to your position.
  • Continue building skills that can prepare you for future technical opportunities within JMARK.
Additional Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • A valid driver's license.
  • Proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Reliable transportation that can be used to perform job responsibilities when necessary.
  • Ability to travel as required by the position.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining closely connected to the larger JMARK team.
