Job summary

M.C. Dean in Charleston, SC is seeking a System Administrator 2 in the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit. You will monitor, maintain and test Physical Access Control, CCTV and PSIM systems for federal, local and commercial clients.

Applicants must hold a Top Secret clearance and have experience with Windows patching, Active Directory, networking basics, and DoD RMF/NIST 800-53 controls. Some travel and on-site work are required.

Qualifications

  • Requires Top Secret clearance eligibility and active status.
  • Experience triaging system problems and implementing fixes.
  • Understanding of Windows AD and large-scale networking basics.
  • Knowledge of RMF/NIST 800-53 controls for DoD IT systems.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain and test Physical Access Control, CCTV and PSIM systems.
  • Provide Tier 1 help desk support and Tier 2 escalation as needed.
  • Analyze system performance and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare documentation of system performance and service requests.
  • Perform desktop setup, imaging software loading and antivirus updates.

We are seeking a System Administrator 2 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.


Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and testing of Physical Access Control, CCTV, PSIM and Integrated Electronic Systems.



  • This position is maintained at a single on-site work location.

  • Candidates must have flexibility in schedule, neat in appearance, able to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Punctuality, attendance, a willingness to learn, and an ability to work well with others are key to success in this role.

  • Manage physical security system support to meet service level agreements.

  • Analyze physical security system performance and recommend improvements.

  • Resolve complex system issues for physical security systems and networks.

  • Triage customer support calls, providing Tier 1 help desk support and Tier 2 escalation.

  • Communicate with customers, manufacturers, vendors, and technical specialists.

  • Train system users and other system support personnel.

  • Analyze and modify preventive maintenance checklists for system changes.

  • Troubleshoot system performance issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Perform preventive maintenance actions including system back-ups, error log reviews, database size, and integrity checks.

  • Organize and prepare detailed documentation of system performance, including service request records and analysis.

  • Perform desktop hardware and operating system set-up, imaging software loading, and antivirus updates.

  • Perform all duties with minimal direct supervision.


Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type:

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information;


Active Top Secret clearance is required.


Education:


  • 2+ Years of Experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity preferred

  • 6+ Years of Experience with an Associate's Degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity preferred

  • 8+ Years of Experience with a High School Diploma


Required Progressive Experience:


  • Requires system administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving the system. problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, implementing new workstations, and system extensions.

  • Requires an understanding of Windows patching and vulnerability remediation.

  • Requires a basic knowledge of Windows active directory hierarchy and implementation.

  • Requires a basic knowledge of large scale networking, VLANS and routing.

  • Requires reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer.

  • Requires the ability to work flexible shifts that include nights, weekends, holidays and on call as needed.

  • Requires a Security + Certification


Preferred Experience:


  • Proficiency with ACAS and HBSS and mitigation strategies

  • Assessment, mitgation, and closure of network vulnerabilities and vulnerability management eMASS

  • Applying STIGs to servers, databases, applications, and other hardware Security Readiness Review (SRR) Tools (scripts and ACAS)

  • Excellent understanding of the DoD RMF lifecycle and NIST 800-53 controls implementation

  • Awareness of NIST Special Publication 800-82, Guide to Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Security and UFC 4-010-06 Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) Cybersecurity of Facility


Travel:


  • Up to 10% annual
