Job summary

Themis Insight, LLC seeks a System Administrator to support IT systems at Ft. Meade, MD. The role requires TS/SCI with Poly and involves day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and escalation handling for UNIX/Windows environments, networks, and servers.

You’ll work across tiers to keep infrastructure reliable and secure. Responsibilities include user support, capacity planning, and system optimization, with preferred experience in ELK, VMware, and SELinux.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of SA experience in similar scope required; Bachelor’s degree may substitute with five extra years.
• Two (2) years of experience with system security tools and configurations.
• Experience with UNIX/Windows systems, networks, and IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for IT systems.
• Manage daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Assist users in accessing and using IT systems.
• Monitor and resolve problems across client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows OS; install and optimize system software.
• Communicate status updates to management and internal customers.

We are hiring a System Administrator to work in the Ft. Meade, MD vicinity. Position location is subject to change based on central MD client's needs.

Required: TS/SCI with a Polygraph

Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day‑to‑day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Level 1 System Administrator (SA) Capabilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
• Provide support to IT systems including day‑to‑day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required

• Five (5) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Two (2) years experience installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and using system security (container security, virtual machine security, security boundary enforcement), configuration, and reporting tools.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired

• Experience with the following tools is strongly preferred: ELK, Tripwire, VMware, RedHat SELinux security tool suite
